The Fresh Williams Neighbourhood Blueprint!

On December 4, 2023, the Township of Langley granted approval to commence the process of amending the Williams Neighbourhood Plan.

The update to the Williams NP will provide a revised framework for guiding decisions related to land use and servicing to address overall community needs. 

The goals set by the Township for the Williams NP update include:

• Maximize the amount of employment lands to generate attractive jobs for the Willoughby community and beyond.
• Create good multi-modal and land use connections between the Williams Neighbourhood and local universities.
• Support some shops and services within a 5 to 10-minute walk from homes, without taking away from the Willoughby Town Centre.
• Support a walking community that builds on the network of greenways and plans for potential future transit service.
• Respect the environment by preserving important areas, stands of trees, viewsheds (to the valley and from Glover Road), and wildlife where feasible.
• Develop a plan that is readily implementable by ensuring that employment land uses are supported by market demand.
